Food Safety Education for North Carolina Growers

Americans enjoy the safest, most affordable food supply in the world. To keep it that way, North Carolina Cooperative Extension educational programs help reduce sources of foodborne illness from field to family. The programs help food entrepreneurs launch successful businesses and provide processors with information and new technology to enhance product quality and profitability while meeting state and federal regulations.

N.C. MarketReady Fresh Produce Safety – Field to Family focuses on fresh produce safety as one of its core educational areas for N.C. Cooperative Extension personnel and N.C. growers. The N.C. MarketReady team has compiled valuable resources and materials on its fresh produce safety Web site, including information on traceability, postharvest quality, cost share opportunities, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and more.
